And what a great weekend it was, but not without some challenges… at the last moment mother nature just didn’t cooperate, requiring a first ever move of this event from our usual host venue at the Trapp Nordic Center to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. With just two days to prepare, Craftsbury turned fields of ice into a stadium and were able to stretch their man-made snow into an outstanding 2.4K race course.

The racing was fast and fun for everyone with a field of over 500 racers each day, spanning the spectrum from Stowe Nordic’s own middle-school racer Kaiden McNeil, to 2014 Sochi Olympian Brian Gregg (who guest coached at our BKL and High School training sessions last week).

Thanks to everyone who was involved in making the races happen, particularly our fabulous volunteers who made the extra drive to Craftsbury to support our club and all the athletes who, a few days before the event, were probably wondering if a race was even going to happen. Thankfully it did.

Booyeah!
