He skis almost every day during the winter at local cross-country ski centers or in the tremendous backcountry areas nearby. He also participates in the Masters Training Program and enjoys volunteering at nordic ski races.
Jean tries to ski whenever it is possible – that includes groomed trails, trails behind the house, and as much as possible, powder in the backcountry. She organizes the yearly fall trail work to maintain the backcountry ski trails in the Ranch Valley. By participating in the Masters program, she has improved her technique considerably. Her next ambition is to become a faster classic and skate skier!

Lauren, a proud Stowe resident, has been drawn to the mountains and trails since childhood. She learned to Alpine ski as a toddler but embraced Nordic skiing later in life, finding joy in gliding through the peaceful woods. You can often spot Lauren on skis at Trapp Family Lodge, bushwhacking through Wiessner Woods, or on the Rec Path with her border collies, Noodles and Ralph (who occasionally mush her along when she’s feeling lazy). Off snow, Lauren channels her passion for local innovation by working with Vermont startups, helping them secure investment and scale their businesses. She shares her home with her husband, Ed, their son, Harry, and their beloved aforementioned border collies. For Lauren, life in Stowe is all about balancing the thrill of outdoor winter adventures with the satisfaction of fostering growth in her community.
