The days are getting shorter and the landscape is looking more like Fall each day. Here’s what we have planned for fall and beyond, hope you can join us!

von Trapp CabinFest September 12th from 4-6PM

The Slayton Pasture Cabin at Trapps has served countless skiers, snowshoers, hikers, and mountain bikers over the years and Trapps recently gave the Cabin a lot of love with an improved foundation and new floors, doors, and windows. Also, the von Trapp Resort has partnered with Waterbury-based Verde Technologies to provide solar power at the Cabin to serve basic power needs (don’t worry, there won’t be any neon lights up there).

To celebrate, the Glam Cowboys will be bringing their indie-pop/rock music to the Cabin and author and environmentalist Bill McKibben will be giving a talk at 5:15PM before we have a 5:30PM Light Switch Flipping Ceremony, in lieu of a ribbon cutting. In addition to jamming to some great music, there will be a cabin open house, lawn games, a bonfire if it feels like fall, and some other treats to be determined. Guests may hike or bike up on their own or join the group hike that will be leaving the Outdoor Center at 2:30PM. All of CabinFest is complimentary, but please RSVP here and check in for a free day pass at the Outdoor Center. Full details here.
