Bus to Nordic World Cup Sprints March 21st
See the best nordic skiers in the world at Lake Placid and skip the hassle of driving and parking – sign up for the Stowe Nordic bus to the Nordic World Championships Sprints on Saturday March 21st! We still have room for more, so come join in on the fun! We are renting the bigger bus, so we have a few spots left!
Trina and Dave Hosmer were at the Olympic Skiathlon events and they say there is nothing like seeing these great athletes in person.
Here’s a sample of what you will see:
Klaebo climbing
Ben Ogden chases Klaebo to win Silver
Jessie giving it her all
The Sprints are a fun event where those skiers who qualify race a short course (less than 3 minutes) in heats of 6 six skiers from quarter finals, semi finals to final. One of the last chances to see Jessie DIggins race before she retires!
The weekend event is The Stifel Lake Placid Finals, the championships of the COOP FIS Cross Country World Cup which is happening March 19–22, 2026 at Mt Van Hoevenberg in Lake Placid, NY. This historic event marks the culmination of the international cross-country skiing season—and you can be there to witness it all.
Cost for the bus is $50 (plus driver’s tip). You also have to buy your own ticket for the event (General Admission $10-20 or VIP ticket $140). We will leave in the morning at 6 am from Stowe with pickups at the Waterbury and Williston Park and Rides. We will arrive in time to see the warm ups, qualifications, the full event and then will return home after the event.

Stowe Derby!
Stowe Derby Discounts (details at the botton of this post)!!
From the Derby organizers:
The Stowe Derby returns on February 22nd, and we’re excited to welcome everyone back for another year of tradition, challenge, and community on snow.
What’s new for 2026:
This year we’ve added a Fixed Heel Division, opening the door for more racers to take part in the history of the Derby. Can you be victorious on an alpine setup as Sepp Ruschp was in 1945?
How are conditions looking?
We don’t mean to exaggerate, but the snow here in Stowe is amazing! We have incredible coverage from top to bottom, all the way into town. Our grooming team has been out in all segments making sure the trail is wide and firm for both our classic and skate skiers. Given an early ice storm this year, we have had more tree clean up than normal – but our great volunteer team has been all over it!
I heard there is a t-shirt this year…
Yes!! We have great shirts this year which have already been grabbed by those who registered before Feb 6th and will have more on sale at registration!
Anything else?
Don’t miss our afterparty at Stowe Cider! With space generously provided by our friends at Stowe Cider, we will all be able to gather for great awards, prizes, food and drink to celebrate after Derby day!
Discount for Stowe Nordic members: Use the code STOWENORDICMEMBER at checkout to get a 25% discount. Good for the first 100 to register so don’t delay.
