Volunteers Needed for “Crosscut Classic” Race on Sunday 1/7
We need to fill a number of volunteer positions for Stowe Nordic’s “Crosscut Classic 10K” race this Sunday at Stowe Mountain Resort XC Center. It is a relatively short race so volunteers should only be needed for about 3 hours. Volunteer start time is 9am (but this may be pushed back to 11am depending on the forecast). This event qualifies for Stowe Nordic’s Volunteer Give-Back so you will earn an entry into our year end raffle plus an invitation to our free year-end volunteer appreciation dinner.

Moonlight Ski on Tuesday Evening
Our first moonlight ski of the season is Tuesday night (Jan 2nd). Meet at 6pm on the Rec Path behind Mountain Ops and Topnotch Tennis Center. We’ll ski the Rec Path by the light of the current “supermoon” and finish at Piecasso. We recommend parking at Piecasso and riding the Mountain Shuttle out to the Topnotch stop. There is a shuttle stop across the street from Piecasso or you can take a short walk to Stoweflake where you can wait inside in the lobby – departs Stoweflake at 5:41pm. Alternatives are to ski to the start (an easy 30-40 minute ski) or park at the start and ski back afterwards (although it’s harder to get motivated for that).
Dress warm, but temperatures are predicted to improve a bit tomorrow, actually getting up into the double positive digits by tomorrow evening. You may also want to bring a headlamp.
