Newsletter – February 5th

Moonlight Ski is ON for Tuesday Feb. 6th at 6pm

With this much needed new snow our Moonlight Ski is on for this Tuesday, February 6th.  Start is on the Rec Path behind Mountain Ops & the Topnotch Tennis Center and we will finish at Piecasso where we’ll be treated to free appetizers (dinner and beverages are on you).

We recommend you park at Piecasso and ride the Mountain Road Shuttle out to the start (get on across the street from Piecasso and get off at Topnotch) – shuttles depart at 5:41 and 5:56 (the latter might be a little tight).  Or alternatively park at Piecasso and ski out to the start – an easy 40 minute ski (and if you are a little late you will meet the rest of us heading towards you).

These are free, fun low-key tours along the Stowe Recreation Path suitable for all ages and abilities.  You do not have to be a club member to participate (but it is always appreciated.)  Dress for the weather – Tuesday evening is forecast to be in the low 20’s – and bring a headlamp if you’d like.

The next moonlight ski is delayed by 1 week from our normal schedule and will be on Tuesday February 27th.

Eastern Cup & UVM Carnival Wrap Up:
What a great 3 days of racing and fun we just had up at Craftsbury!  A HUGE thank you to the many many volunteers who came out to help put on these races.  Also a huge thank you to Craftsbury for stepping up at the last minute to host the event when weather/snow just didn’t cooperate here at Trapps, our traditional venue for this event.
Congratulations to all the racers, but a special call out to Stowe Nordic’s Neal Graves who jumped out of his volunteer coordinator role with minutes to spare before the Men’s Masters race and won the race with a substantial lead over the pack.
